Summer Off White
Welcome, welcome! This is part 1 of a 2 part Houston series. I traveled down to H-Town to visit my lovely friend and Loon Look photographer, Ava!! As you may have guessed; yeah, it was f*cking hot! But we sucked it up and made it through the gated community to shoot some photos for the blog. I had to play “Versace” because of this moment (google the lyrics if you aren't quite sure what I'm referencing here). Yes, the luxurious home provided for a great background, as you will soon see.
There is something that I have always found so chic about incorporating a white palette into a look. If you don't know my styling go-to for wearing different shades of white/cream/ivory/etc. together, then take a look at my closet, man. First of all, it's color-coordinated and the white color section takes up 1/3 of it!!! Serious. Back in April ‘18, when I did coverage for MN Fashion Week, I purchased this button up and linen trouser shorts from The Keep-- one of the vintage brands that was being represented in the Circa Now event. Also, I have been putting this coin necklace to good use lately. I love the vintage look it instantly brings to any outfit. But really, a look like this delivers two of my favorite vibes. First is the 90's “Parent Trap” vibe. I envision Elizabeth James wearing this. It reminds me of that amazing, off-white ensemble she stunted while in London. And the other vibe... a summer in Italy. Think of the film, The Talented Mr. Ripley. I've already decided I'm wearing this when I visit in May ‘19. Now, everyone please send Ava a 'Thank You' letter because this is definitely my favorite shoot so far. Ok, photo time now…
